The BB1 Supermono was first unveiled at the Motor Show in Cologne in 1994. It was produced from 1995 to 1997.
The BB1 is fitted with a 1 cylinder Rotax 650cc block supplied by BMW. Therefore the name BMW - BIMOTA 1. The engine has two overhead camshafts, four valves and two spark plugs that are resposible for a very good combustion.
The Race replica's present with us and shown here (number 74 and 76) have double front disc brake, pump Gold line circuit, exhaust with mufflers. With the K & N air filters they deliver 62HP and are painted in the tricolore colors. The total number BB1 Supermono's is 524 of which 376 BB1 Supermono in red and gray, 148 Biposto's in blue
The BIMOTA YB6 was presented in 1987 at the motor show in Tokyo.
The bike was equipped with Yamaha FZR Genesis engine block. The engine equipped with five valves per cylinder delivered the Yamagha bike 135 HP the Yamaha. It delivered the Bimota 140 HP through better use of the in- and exhaust. Partly because of his very low weight. 185 kg for a 1000 cc , it was at that time the fastest motorcycle in the world for the road.
The beautiful frame of high quality aluminum was completely designed around the block by the hand of Federico Martini. This he had also used in the Bimota 750I.E for the Formula 1 (forerunner of the current Super Bike's) where Virginio Ferrari became World champignon and Davide Tardozzi finished 2nd. The frame combined with the beautifully designed body and paint job in the Bimota Colours Red / White with gold rim, it was certainly an example for today's modern bikes.
The later, by Pier Luigi Marconi, designed YB series from BIMOTA that followed, such as the YB8 - Tuatara - Furanoen - Dieci, were a feast for the eye and timeless in design. In the later series the same frame design was used but with different body and paintwork.
The here shown YB6 is from 1988 and was bought new from the factory. It's tuned block and 37mm Mikuni's delivered 152 HP. There is 11.312km odometer and is almost in new condition. The YB6 production stopped at 546.
Bimota YB9SR introduced in 1994, this was more than four years later then the presentation of the YB9 Bellaria in 1989.
The YB9SR had the same frame construction as the other YB series, such as the YB6, YB8, Tuatara and Dieci. This frame was designed by Federico Martini. Pier Luigi Marconi was responsible for the design of the body.
The YB9 SR had an output of 102 hp at 9300 rev / min. Front and rear suspension was from Paioli and brakes with 320mm floating discs were from Brembo. The wheels were the well-known three-spoke lightweight Marchesini's. Of the YB9SR are 651 produced. Later followed the YB9 SRI with the injection system that delivered 106 HP and 225 of them were produced.
The Lamborghini Yellow YB9SR we have at the galleria is still completely in original condition and has only run 149 KM. The displayed Red YB9 SR is not entirely original. The exhaust is replaced with a much lighter double short silencer and the engine is tuned. On the dyno measured 118 hp. With a weight brought back to 169 kg this makes it a great bike to perform well in the 600 cc class.

The engine has two overhead camshafts, four valves and two spark plugs that are resposible for a very good combustion. The standard version shown here produces 48HP at 6500 rpm which is mated to a 5 speed gearbox and has a top speed of 183 km.
The incredibly beautiful and light aluminum frame is like the rear fork of the Oval Section Technology system. In addition, it is quite remarkable that the BB1 the fuel tank is placed below the engine. In 1994 groundbreaking there through this arrangement center of gravity became very low. The lowest ever, and nowadays still very exclusive. The suspension- and damping system is Paioli and brakes are from Brembo, the wheels were both 17 inch Antera as Marchesini.
To participate in the Sound of Singel class (SOS) Bimota produced a total Race kit for FL 10.000,-. This was 725 cc and produced 75 hp and had a double front disc brake, titanium exhaust and magnesium wheels.

The story about the origin of this super beautiful machine is pretty unique. After the bankruptcy of Bimota in 1999 there was a restart in 2002 with new owners. They wanted Bimota, with such a big name in frame construction, to stay alive. When walking through the factory they found several dozen very modern SB8S frames. The frames were partially made of a cast aluminum alloy with a high-quality carbon fiber box structure around the heart of the machine. It was a not seen before design and certainly revolutionary in its time. Not really surprising that they found these frames, because it was / is indeed the great specialty of Bimota. They made / make the most fantastic and super steering frames.
But not only the frame was exceptional. The Bimota technicians took the whole bike one step further. The tank and body were produced out of carbon fiber. For the front and rear damping everything from Ölins was mounted on. In addition, they mounted the much lighter OZ Racing wheels. They wanted the best of the best.
The milling of the smaller components was the next thing addressed. By doing this this frame was not only lighter but also much more beautiful. Yet they were not ready at Bimota. The engine, which we already knew from the SB series, was also thoroughly addressed. He was mildly tuned and equipped by the Bimota designed Radial EFI injection system. The SB8K Santa Monica is the only production motorcycle in the world that uses this system designed by Bimota.
Because of its weight and rigidity the SB8K Santa Monica, with the tuned Suzuki TL1000 block, it is the best deal you could find. The total weight was reduced to 181 kg and the capacity increased to 143 HP at 9700 RPM. Complemented by superb milling work and painting, this has become a showpiece of Bimota.
With confidence we dare to say that this Bimota one of the most quality products that came from the factory, if not from all bike manufacturers. In other words, the Bimota "Santa Monica Millennium". Our bike is one of about 25 copies and has a 00000 counter and is one of top items in our Bimota Galleria Collectione!
The illustrated Bimota DB2RS was purchased new by Bimota Galleria in 1996. After the improvement of the TDD management system 11,323 km was driven on it.
157 DB2RS were built, of which 73 in this color. The drawings for the DB2 were already finished at Bimota, but they were not able to produce it and put it on the market before the Ducati 916. Last mentioned was also designed by Massimo Tamburini. Therefore the engines have a lot of similarities. If Bimota was put on the market earlier then the Ducati 916, then the success of the Ducati 916 would perhaps went towards Bimota.
There are a total of 771 DB2 produced of which:
- DB2: 408 units
- DB2 RS: 157 units
- DB2 EF: 100 units
- DB2 J 400 (Japan): 106 units
The VDue shown here is new and picked up in 2002 at the factory in Rimini. This is totally original and has a 500 cc V twin 2tact with Weber / Mirelli injection system that deliveres 135 hp.
Bimota was the first and is the only one that produced a V twin engine with 2tact INJECTION for the road. Of the 620 produced VDue's 500 there are, by Bimota, many converted to carburetors after the call back. One of them is the Evoluzione Troffeo, the later model. It's supplied with carburetors Vdue and has 105 hp.
The exact number of the original with injection is not entirely clear. It is estimated at about 150.
After 15 years of development, the VDue came too late for The GP 500 2tact Racers. In the year that followed after the introduction they went to the 800cc 4tact and the project was therewfore never successful. That was the reason the factory went bankrupt
But with their exclusivity, exceptional design of Sergio Robiano and their great handling the VDue will always be a popular bike.
